Crystal Cortellessa has led the manufacturing and facilities groups at Neurotech since 2019. Prior to that, Mrs. Cortellessa has been part of Neurotech’s core manufacturing team since 2008. During this time she was a key player in the startup of their Cumberland, RI facility in 2009, the consolidation of all operations in 2012, and actively participated and led the group through manufacturing campaigns to support enrollment of several Phase I, Phase II, and two Phase III clinical trials targeting various retinal indications.
Crystal has over 20 years of biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience, spanning from research and development early in her career, manufacturing engineering, and manufacturing leadership. She has worked for contract manufacturing organizations as well as large biopharma companies such as Genzyme and Amgen in upstream operations serving in roles of increasing responsibility. Crystal was part of Amgen’s successful startup and launch of their biopharmaceutical plants located in West Greenwich, RI. Crystal received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Framingham State University.
